Grace and Lace specializes in women’s apparel that is classically feminine and romantic, yet still on trend with today’s modern style. With all of our success, Grace and Lace is on a mission to change the world and has helped save hundreds of children in India by building orphanages with plans to open many more in the coming years.
Melissa and the Grace and Lace Design Team are looking for construction savvy Tech Designer to help grow our successful, award-winning catalog of women’s apparel and accessories.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage Tech Design process from prototype to production
- Develop and implement required Technical Design Standards and Procedures necessary for department growth
- Manage Fit processes and procedures for standardization, grading, specs and quality
- Work with design team to build and manage our production calendar
- Comment on proto's; approve and maintain a consistent and correct fit on all garments
- Conduct fittings; communicate fit issues and correction requirements to factories
- Create grade rules and follow through with production pipeline in timely fashion
- Communicate with overseas and domestic factories on a daily basis
- Proactively problem solve fit, construction, and fabric issues and implement solutions
- Implement processes that help us exceed customer expectations and readily react to their needs and desires
- Collaborate and communicate with key partners throughout the design process
- Monitor the communication and work-flow between Design, Production and Vendor base to ensure smooth working processes and adherence to the Time and Action calendar
- Build and maintain collaborative and effective relationships
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Technical Design or Pattern making
- Comprehensive background in Technical Design, Product Development and Patternmaking w/ extensive knowledge of fabric, garment construction and fit
- Ability to create grade rules and standard fits
- Results oriented, detail minded and flexible with strong listening skills
- Excellent prioritization, organization and problem solving skills
- Ability to drive results with regard to fit, quality and construction
- Knowledge of domestic and import production process
- Knowledge of woven & knit manufacturing techniques
- Highly motivated, passionate and results-oriented
- Solid and professional communication skills
- Personal professionalism and accountability
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
- Photoshop and Illustrator skills preferred
