DESCRIPTION:
What started in 2010 while owner/designer Melissa Hinnant was on bed rest during pregnancy has grown to become a multi-million online retail store -- and we are still growing! Grace and Lace specializes in women’s apparel that is classically feminine and romantic, yet still on trend with today’s modern style. With all of our success, Grace and Lace is on a mission to change the world and has helped save hundreds of children in India by building orphanages with plans to open many more in the coming years.
Melissa and the Grace and Lace Design Team are looking for world-changing design talent to help lead the team and grow our successful, award-winning catalog of women’s apparel and accessories.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help build and manage our product roadmap
Comment on proto's, approve and maintain a consistent and correct fit on all garments
Comment on lab dips and strike offs
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with factories & agents
Responsible for product design process to include market research, mood board, designing, sketching, spec’ing and fit
Communicate with overseas and domestic factories on a daily basis
Own the design calendar
Facilitate communication and coordination throughout all aspects of the product design lifecycle
Implement processes that help us exceed customer expectations and readily react to their needs and desires
Collaborate and communicate with key partners throughout the design process
Build and maintain collaborative and effective relationships
QUALIFICATIONS:
Comprehensive background in design and product development w/ extensive knowledge of fabric, prints, trims & sweaters
Sensitive to all aspects of product development as it pertains to product strategy, timeline, margin goals as well as customer needs
Possess a high degree of creative energy combined with strong management skills
Results oriented, detail minded and flexible with strong listening skills
Excellent prioritization, organization and problem solving skills
Knowledge of domestic and import production process
Knowledge of woven & knit manufacturing techniques
Thorough knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color ways, sewing techniques, graphics & trim
Organized leader (able to initiate)
Highly detailed oriented
Highly motivated, passionate and results-oriented
Solid and professional communication and presentation skills
Personal professionalism and accountability
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Design or equivalent experience is a plus
Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
