Relaxed fit denim shorts with mid-rise. Denim has stretch. Stay in normal size for intended fit. If between sizes, want a slimmer look, and prefer to use stretch in your denim, you could size down.
Melissa is 5'5 and can wear a size 2 for fitted styling, and 4 for more relaxed look.
